Urgent requirement for a 6 month + contract on outskirts of Glasgow.
-Writing manuals and other technical documents
-Updating existing documents to cover changes to the software
-Ensuring documents are technically correct
-Completing documentation in time for software release
-Producing PDFs of documents
-Printing*binding hard-copy manuals and other documents to send to customers
-Updating the documentation area of our intranet with new*revised documents
Skills:
-Impeccable English
-Expertise in using FrameMaker (version 6 or 7)
-Experience using Microsoft Word
-Experience using Adobe Acrobat to generate PDFs
-UNIX – you should be familiar with basic UNIX commands and have some experience of Solaris and*or Linux
-Familiarity with networked systems and client*server application architecture
Ability to:
-communicate well
-find out from software developers and Support staff how software works
-write clear, concise and accurate steps explaining how to use a program or how to complete a specific task
-Stickler for detail
Advantageous:
-Experience of using RoboHelp to create HTML Help
-Experience of Web page authoring (HTML*CSS*JavaScript)
-Some programming experience
